What is 6AV2124-0GC13-0AX0?

It is the SIMATIC HMI TP700 Comfort Outdoor 7-inch Touch Panel PROFINET and PROFIBUS — a 7-inch widescreen TFT Comfort Panel for outdoor and harsh locations, with a daylight-readable bonded touch screen, IP66 UV-resistant front, −30 °C to +50 °C operation, PROFINET plus MPI/PROFIBUS DP interfaces, 12 MB configuration memory and Windows CE 6.0.

How is this different from the standard TP700 Comfort?

The Outdoor type (6AV2124-0GC13-0AX0) adds an IP66 UV-resistant aluminium front instead of IP65, an extended −30 °C to +50 °C temperature range, a bonded daylight-readable display and hazardous-location / marine approvals. It is also configured from WinCC Comfort V13 SP1 with HSP, whereas the indoor TP700 Comfort (6AV2124-0GC01-0AX0) starts at WinCC Comfort V11.

Is this panel discontinued?

No — Siemens lists it as PM300: Active product. Note the difference from the indoor TP700 Comfort (6AV2124-0GC01-0AX0), which is in PM400 phase-out since 31 January 2026. We still confirm current availability per order and never quote stock we cannot supply.

Can it be used in direct sunlight?

Yes — the 7-inch TFT is a bonded display with anti-glare treatment designed for daylight readability, which is the main reason to specify the Outdoor type for outdoor cabinets or brightly lit areas.

Does it have hazardous-area approvals?

Yes — ATEX and IECEx for Zone 2/22, plus cULus Class I Div 2 and FM Class I Div 2. It also carries marine classifications GL, ABS, DNV, LRS and CCS. Observe the installation conditions in the current Siemens documentation.

Which software do I need to configure it?

The TIA Portal with WinCC Comfort V13 SP1 including HSP or higher. Comfort Panels are not configured with WinCC Basic or WinCC Unified Basic.

Does the operating system still receive security updates?

The panel runs Windows CE 6.0, and Microsoft support for Windows CE 6.0 — including security updates — has been discontinued. Plan network exposure and any remote access accordingly; we are happy to discuss migration options.
