The SIMATIC HMI TP1500 Comfort PRO 1AX0 (order number 6AV2124-0QC24-1AX0) is the pedestal version of the 15.6-inch Comfort PRO panel: it stands on a vertical post or foot through a bottom flange, and the silver base adapter for that flange is part of the delivery. It exists for the operator station that has no frame, beam or ceiling above it to hang a support arm from.

What the TP1500 Comfort PRO 1AX0 Is, and Where It Fits

For the station with nothing overhead

A support-arm panel needs structure above the operator: a machine frame, a column, a beam. Plenty of cells have none. Retrofits into lines that were built without an HMI mount, stand-alone assembly benches, and cells where the operator walks around the machine rather than standing at a fixed window are all cases where an arm has nowhere to attach. This housing puts the flange at the bottom instead, so the panel stands on a post that comes up from the floor or from the machine base — the same panel, held up from below.

A foot is not a floor stand — that distinction decides the order

Siemens calls this version “for supporting foot”, and the word order matters. The panel arrives with the interface for a foot, not with the foot. The post, the base plate, the floor anchors and the cable duct belong to the machine builder, because they have to suit your floor and your reach height. What you get from Siemens is the plate the structure bolts to. Customers who expect a complete floor stand in the crate are the ones who end up with a panel they cannot install, which is why we ask for the mounting arrangement before quoting.

What actually changes between the three housings

Display, electronics, memory, software and screen layout are identical across the fixed, round-pipe and pedestal versions — a project written for one runs on the others without the picture being touched. What differs is how the panel is held up, whether hardware keys can be added, and what Siemens puts in the box. That last point is covered in the next section, because it is where most orders go wrong.

Siemens states the adapter rule explicitly: the basic adapter is included for the fixed support-arm version and for the pedestal version, but not for the round-pipe version. If you are comparing quotes on the three order numbers, this row alone can shift the total.

Designing the Pedestal Station

Height and tilt

Set the post so the screen centre lands at the height an operator actually looks at while standing — if you have to bend your knees to read it, the post is too short. The panel tilts toward the operator up to the maximum inclination, which is how you compensate for a tall operator or a low mounting point. Keep the tilt in reserve: it buys viewing comfort, and it costs ambient headroom, so do not plan on maximum tilt in a hot cell without checking the derated figure in the table above.

Stability is a moment problem, not a weight problem

The panel is not heavy, but it sits at the end of a lever arm. Add an extension unit on each side, a cable bundle being pulled during commissioning, and an operator leaning on the front while reading a fault, and the load on the base plate is far higher than the panel’s own weight suggests. Bolt the foot to the floor or into the machine base rather than relying on a weighted plate, and check the post for sway at the top — a screen that moves 2 mm while being touched registers as missed keystrokes.

Cable entry, service access and keys

Supply and network come in from below through the flange, so route them inside or along the post rather than draping them across the floor. Leave a service loop long enough for the tilt range, and leave clearance behind and below the housing for SD card and connector access. If the station is the machine’s only control point, this is the housing to put two extension units on: keys on both sides turn a pedestal panel into a self-contained operator station with no separate button box.

One restriction to design around: this housing is landscape only. The panel must be mounted vertically and cannot be turned 90 degrees, so a narrow post in a narrow aisle does not become a portrait station by rotating it.

Fixed, Round Pipe or Pedestal — Choosing Between the Three

Order numberMountingExtension unitsChoose it when
6AV2124-0QC24-0AX0Support arm, flange on topNoThe machine already has a mounting point above the operator and touch-only operation is enough.
6AV2124-0QC24-0BX0Support arm, 48 mm round pipeYes — up to 2There is structure overhead but the arm is a standard pipe, or another supplier’s arm must be reused.
6AV2124-0QC24-1AX0 — this pageSupporting foot, flange at the bottomYes — up to 2Nothing overhead to hang from, or the operator station must be free-standing next to the machine.

All three run the same project on the same engineering software with the same screen layout — the decision is mechanical. The 12-inch version of this pedestal housing is documented on the TP1200 Comfort PRO (6AV2124-0MC24-0AX0) page.

Compatibility and How to Order

The panel couples to SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500 and S7-300/400 over PROFINET, MPI or PROFIBUS DP; Modbus TCP/IP and EtherNet/IP cover third-party controllers. A door-mounted TP1500 Comfort project does not load onto this device unchanged — the module and the TIA device type differ, so budget the rework before treating it as a drop-in replacement.

Typical uses

  • Retrofits into lines that were never designed with an HMI mounting point.
  • Free-standing operator stations beside a machine, where the panel is the only control surface.
  • Cells where hardware keys have to sit beside the screen and the station must stay put while the machine is moved around it.

How to order

  • Email sales@can-electric.com with the order number, the delivery country, the post or foot you intend to bolt to and how many extension units you need.
  • State the condition you need — new, new-surplus or refurbished is written on the quote, not implied.
  • Because this type is in phase-out, availability is confirmed per order; prices are quoted in USD and shipped from Hong Kong by DHL.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 6AV2124-0QC24-1AX0?

A Siemens SIMATIC HMI TP1500 Comfort PRO — the expandable 15.6-inch housing for pedestal mounting with the flange at the bottom, shipped with the silver basic adapter, a 1366 × 768 projective-capacitive display, 24 MB project memory and WinCC Comfort V14 SP1 engineering.

Does the pedestal or floor stand come with it?

No. You get the panel, the basic adapter and the bottom flange. The post, base plate and floor anchors are the machine builder’s parts, because they have to suit your floor and your operator height. Send us the structure you plan to use and we confirm the interface.

How is it different from the round-pipe 0BX0?

Two things. The mounting is a bottom flange on a post rather than a 48 mm pipe, and the delivery includes the basic adapter that the 0BX0 does not. Internally the panel is identical, so a project moves between them without the screen being reworked.

Can I fit extension units?

Yes, up to two, one on each side, in the 12- to 22-inch housing class. They add hardware keys and operator elements, not screen area — useful when the pedestal station is the machine’s only control point.

Can it be mounted in portrait format?

No — landscape only, mounted vertically. The panel may be tilted up to 35° without external ventilation, and at that angle the ambient limit drops from +45 °C to +40 °C.

Is the housing really sealed all round?

Yes. IP65 is specified at the front and the rear, because these devices are built to stand on the machine with no cabinet around them. Resistive touch and an IP20 rear belong to the standard Comfort panels, not to the PRO range.

Does the touch screen work with gloves?

The glass front is specified for gloved operation, but thick or dirty gloves are exactly the case where extension units with real keys are the safer answer.

Is it discontinued?

Siemens lists it as Phase Out Announce — the whole Comfort PRO family is in PM400. The successor is the 6AV2128-3QB27-1BX0 (MTP1500 PRO) on WinCC Unified Comfort V18, with product cancellation provisionally scheduled for December 2027.

Why is the successor’s suffix 1BX0 and not 1AX0?

Because Siemens did not keep the suffix for the pedestal version. The fixed and round-pipe versions carry their suffix over (0AX0 → 0AX0, 0BX0 → 0BX0), but this one becomes 1BX0. Quote the code as printed on the Siemens page rather than extrapolating it.

What survives the move to MTP1500 PRO?

The mechanical side — the post, the flange interface and any extension units, since the extension-unit interface is mechanically compatible across the two generations. What does not carry over is the project: it has to be rebuilt in WinCC Unified Comfort.

Which software and how much memory?

WinCC Comfort V14 SP1 with the HSP in TIA Portal, on 24 MB of project memory running Windows Embedded Compact 2013. WinCC Basic and WinCC Unified do not apply to this device.

How much does it weigh, and what has to carry it?

It ships at 7.261 kg including the basic adapter and bottom flange, in a 46.9 × 30.4 × 19.7 cm carton. Multiply by the lever arm of your post when you size the base plate: the bending load at the foot is what decides whether the station stays rigid.

Is the panel genuine, and is CAN Electric a Siemens distributor?

The hardware is genuine Siemens, sourced through Siemens-authorized distribution partners; condition is stated on every quote. CAN Electric is an independent channel trader, not Siemens and not a factory-authorized distributor.

How do I get a quote?
