A digital positioner for standard control valves

The SIPART PS2 mounts on single-acting pneumatic linear and part-turn actuators and drives the valve to the position set by its 4 to 20 mA command. A pre-controlled piezo valve meters the output pressure and consumes virtually no instrument air once the valve has settled; on loss of loop power a fail-safe action depressurizes the spring-return actuator.

Commissioning from the front panel

Three buttons and a two-line display configure and operate the device. Automatic initialization sets the zero point, travel or rotary range and direction, and options such as split-range or characteristic curves are set locally with no configuration software – this analogue version carries no communication protocol.

Modular slots for feedback and limit signalling

The base unit ships without a limit monitor and without option modules, but internal slots accept retrofit modules: 4-20 mA position feedback, alarm outputs, slot-initiator or mechanical limit-switch modules. The analogue 6DR5010/5020 covers standard control loops that need no remote communication; choose the 6DR51x0 HART versions for remote configuration and diagnostics, or the 6DR52x0 PROFIBUS PA versions for fully digital fieldbus integration.
